Recap: Bryn Mawr Mawrtians vs. Gerstell Academy
The Bryn Mawr Mawrtians lost against Gerstell Academy back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bryn Mawr suffered a tough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Gerstell Academy. Bryn Mawr has struggled against Gerstell Academy recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Gerstell Academy to victory were Eniyah Stinnette and Annie Jackson. Stinnette dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Jackson scored 23 points along with six steals. Stinnette continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Miley Alguire was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Bryn Mawr dropped their record down to 3-3 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Gerstell Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Bryn Mawr will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mount de Sales Academy at 4:15 p.m. Hopefully Mount de Sales Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. As for Gerstell Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Shabach Christian Academy Blue at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Shabach Christian Academy Blue is ranked 33rd, while Gerstell Academy is ranked 38th).
