Calexico barely beat Calipatria the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-15.

Calexico's offense was headlined by EVALYN RUBIO and JOHANNA GALLEGO, who picked up nine kills apiece. RUBIO really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with three. Finally, SHARON RODRIGUEZ kept Calexico's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Calexico's victory bumped their record up to 8-18. As for Calipatria, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.

The future could be bright for both Calexico and Calipatria: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Bulldogs will look to extend Vincent Memorial's four-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Calipatria will try to hand Palo Verde Valley their 11th-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
