Football Game Preview: Youngker Roughriders vs. Prescott Badgers + Official Tickets

The Youngker Roughriders will square off against the Prescott Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Youngker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 35.9 points per game this season.

Youngker is headed into Friday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They lost to Lake Havasu on the road by a 36-19 margin on Friday.

Although Youngker took the loss, they still got scores from Jonas Phillips, Larry Moore Jr, and Jeremiah Garcia.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Prescott, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 30-13 win over Flagstaff on Thursday.

Prescott's win came from a few key players Youngker will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was James Hefferin, who threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Phillips, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Prescott didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Flagstaff to a completion percentage of just 44%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Kenny Miller-Terry and Noble Ortega, who each logged one passes deflected. Prescott wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.4%.

Prescott pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.7 points over those games. As for Youngker, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Youngker has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 182.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Prescott struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 207.2 rushing yards.
