Basketball Game Preview: Cicero Prep Academy Centurions vs. Baboquivari Warriors

The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions will take on the Baboquivari Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cicero Prep Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 victory over Williams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Centurions have posted since November 21, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cicero Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chelsea Leggat, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Leggat has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Weaver, who earned 11 points along with five boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Baboquivari rose to the challenge on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gladiators 46-14. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Cicero Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points over those games. As for Baboquivari, they pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
