Baseball Recap: Newark Academy Takes a Loss

Newark Academy and Montclair Kimberley Academy pushed the score to 15-11 the last time they played Montclair Kimberley Academy, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Minutemen fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Minutemen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Newark Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Wyche, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Wyche has hit this season.

Newark Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newark Academy will challenge Gill St. Bernard's at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, they will face off against Cedar Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
