Basketball Recap: Lucas Hipp's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tok over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent

Tok was the 80-23 winner over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Tok Wolverines took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on Friday.

Tok lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lucas Hipp, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. Hipp has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chairo Espinosa, who posted nine points along with seven steals and six boards.

Even though they lost, Tok smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Tok's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Tok has already played their next match, a 66-59 loss against Jimmy Huntington on the 7th. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-52 defeat against Manokotak on the 7th.
