Recap: Warren Central Vikings vs. Columbus Falcons

The Warren Central Vikings entered their tilt with the Columbus Falcons with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Warren Central claimed a resounding 41-6 victory over Columbus at home. Considering Warren Central has won four games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Collins Jr., who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns. Collins Jr. hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Teryn Green, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Warren Central's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Columbus and 3-7 Ridgeland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.4% over those games). As for Columbus, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Warren Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saltillo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Warren Central is ranked 14th). Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
