Volleyball Recap: Sumter Takes a Loss

Sumter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gamecocks of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2015.

Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-2. As for Cardinal Newman, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-2.

Sumter has already played their next game (against Cheraw), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Cardinal Newman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Clinton on the 20th.
