MAIS AAA I District 1 recap September 24, 2013

Washington scaled the state rankings by moving to 53 from 84 this week, the biggest jump in MAIS AAA I District 1. The Generals climbed the ranks as a result of topping Lee Academy 33-6.

Washington extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Colts, 33-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Jackson Academy's dynamic duo of Nick Conley and David Ford proved to be unstoppable against Briarcrest Christian, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Conley threw for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns and Ford had 73 yards receiving. Duncan Maxwell helped Jackson Academy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.

The Raiders' dynamic duo of Conley and Ford proved tough for the Saints to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Conley put up the best numbers in passing as Jackson Academy beat Briarcrest Christian.

Caleb Shufelt provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Madison-Ridgeland Academy lost to Jackson Prep. He completed 10 passes for 110 yards and also ran for 34 yards. Shufelt's key target this week was Zach McCraw, who caught 7 passes for 68 yards.

Zack Everhart was the best running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 95 yards as the Patriots defeated Carly Powers' team.

Ford was the best receiver in MAIS AAA I District 1 this week as the Raiders topped the Saints.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Shufelt has thrown for 861 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while McCraw has 25 catches for 382 yards.

The Generals took down Lee Academy 33-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
