Softball Recap: Wilkinson County Warriors vs. Georgia School for Innovation & Classics Patriots
Wilkinson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against the Georgia School for Innovation & Classics Patriots, falling 21-2. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.
Jaydn Corn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Wilkinson County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.
Wilkinson County is taking a road trip to square off against Baldwin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilkinson County has given up an average of 18 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnson County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten run or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Georgia School for Innovation & Classics likes a good challenge.
