Soccer Game Preview: Amphitheater vs. Cholla

The Amphitheater Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Cholla Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Amphitheater is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.

Amphitheater fought the good fight in their overtime match against Douglas on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Amphitheater hit Douglas with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Johan Cruz Erives, Innocent Byiringro, and Miguel Estrada.

Meanwhile, Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Sahuarita.

Amphitheater's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Cholla, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Amphitheater beat Cholla by a goal in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 3-2. Does Amphitheater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cholla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
