Baseball Recap: East Jordan Extends Winning Streak to Four

East Jordan had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They blew past the Bellaire Eagles 20-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Monday.

Brady Wilson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, William Webb was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of East Jordan's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Elijah Burns, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.

East Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They are 12-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

East Jordan's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bellaire, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5-1 record this season.

East Jordan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Johannesburg-Lewiston on the 15th. Bellaire has also already played their next contest (against Mancelona), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
