Baseball Game Preview: Blake Yellow Jackets vs. Freedom Patriots

The Blake Yellow Jackets will square off against the Freedom Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Blake is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Riverview on Monday. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 10-0. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freedom). Everything went their way against Tampa Bay Tech on Monday as Freedom made off with a 16-5 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Freedom got a massive performance out of Liam Harris, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Cress, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Freedom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Freedom, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Blake couldn't quite get it done against Freedom in their previous matchup back in February as they fell 7-3. Can Blake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
