Baseball Game Preview: West Valley Rams vs. Wenatchee Panthers

The West Valley Rams will head out to face off against the Wenatchee Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Valley will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.

West Valley barely beat Moses Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Mavericks on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wenatchee hadn't done well against Davis recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 4-1.

Wenatchee let Owen Ervin and Griffin Butler run wild. Ervin went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Butler went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Butler has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Nolan Godfrey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Wenatchee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

West Valley's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Wenatchee, their record now sits at 14-4.

West Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Wenatchee when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
