Football Recap: Mapletown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mapletown extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They had to suffer through a 53-0 loss at the hands of the California Trojans. The Maples were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for California, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Malachi Peak was his usual excellent self, rushing for 74 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made seven total tackles.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mapletown will head out to take on Avella at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Maples' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for California, they are taking a road trip to square off against Carmichaels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Mighty Mikes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
