Recap: Elgin Academy Hilltoppers vs. North Shore Country Day Raiders
Even though the Elgin Academy Hilltoppers have not done well against the North Shore Country Day Raiders recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Elgin Academy enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over North Shore Country Day. The win made it back-to-back wins for Elgin Academy.
Elgin Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Tacher out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Rahul Gowda was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Elgin Academy pushed their record up to 13-14 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for North Shore Country Day, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin Academy will square off against Christian Life at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Shore Country Day, they will head out on the road to square off against Lake Forest Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
