Softball Preview: Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones vs. Science Hill Hilltoppers        
        
		
            
 The Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones are on the road again  on Wednesday to play the Science Hill Hilltoppers at 4:30  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Elizabethton will head into Thursday's  match on the come-up: they were handed a two-run  defeat in their last  matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Johnson County  on Thursday. Elizabethton never let Johnson County onto the board and left with  a   15-0  win.
  Lela Byrd made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Byrd was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news, Elizabethton let  Jozey Reece and  Mollie Johnson loose on the outfield. Reece  went 2-for-4 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run, while  Johnson  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-5.  Addy Campbell was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-1.
 Meanwhile,  everything went Science Hill's way against Sullivan East on Monday as Science Hill made off with  a  15-4 victory.
 Elizabethton is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 14 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record  this season. As for Science Hill, their win  ended  a  nine-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 8-4.
 Everything went Elizabethton's way against Science Hill when the teams last played  back in April of 2023 as Elizabethton made off with  a  10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elizabethton since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
