Soccer Game Preview: Castaic vs. Hart

Castaic is 0-6 against Hart since December of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Castaic Coyotes will host the Hart Hawks at 5:00 p.m.

Castaic is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Valencia back in December of 2024. Castaic fell just short of Valencia by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1020th, while the Vikings are ranked 482nd).

Alexis Silva wasn't going to let Valencia walk away unscathed as he scored both of Castaic's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Meanwhile, Hart came tearing into last Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Griffins a 1-0 shutout. Give the Hawks' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

This is the second loss in a row for Castaic and nudges their season record down to 0-5-1. As for Hart, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Castaic suffered a grim 8-3 defeat to Hart in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Castaic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
