Basketball Recap: Garrett Morgan Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Garrett Morgan posted their closest victory since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Midview Middies, sneaking past 57-54. The Falcons' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Darrius Chappell was a one-man wrecking crew for Garrett Morgan as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards. Another player making a difference was J'Shon Lawson, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Midview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luke Jockel earned 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 37% of Midview's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Newton, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.
