Softball Game Preview: West Elk Patriots vs. Sedan Devils

The West Elk Patriots will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Sedan Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Elk lost 19-6 to Cedar Vale/Dexter on Thursday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Flinthills, falling 15-4.

Mallory Darnall was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayreen Ironsyde, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Sedan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for West Elk, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
