Softball Recap: St. Pius X Comes Up Short

St. Pius X's last matchup with Atrisco Heritage Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The St. Pius X Sartans lost 14-4 to the Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Aubri Hooee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Jordan Chavez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

St. Pius X's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Pius X will head out to take on Volcano Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Bernalillo at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
