Basketball Recap: Fairmont Heights Takes a Loss

Fairmont Heights and Largo squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Fairmont Heights had to settle for second. They took a 91-75 bruising from the Largo Lions. The Hornets have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

When it comes to explaining why Fairmont Heights lost, don't look at Jordan Blackmon. Despite the final result, he shot 56% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. What's more, Blackmon posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalil Moore, who earned eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Fairmont Heights' loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Largo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Fairmont Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Largo, they will face off against Lackey on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lackey comes in on 15 and Largo on three.
