Softball Recap: Shelbyville Golden Bears vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish
There's no place like home for Shelbyville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Gracie Crafton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Addison Stieneker was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Shearer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.
