While Brighton's victory against Arlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Tigers 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.
Brady Ray was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Brighton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Carson Hooper was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Brighton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tipton-Rosemark Academy's offense. They came up short against Bartlett on Wednesday, falling 10-0.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Waylon Pickett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Brighton, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brighton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Brighton's hitters?
Brighton was able to grind out a solid victory over Tipton-Rosemark Academy when the teams last played back in March, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
