Preview: Bolton Bears vs. Bunkie Panthers
After two games on the road, Bolton is heading back home. They will take on The Bunkie Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bolton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Bolton fell victim to Marksville's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Tigers.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins dating back to last season, Bunkie's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 38-22 to Jena.
Bunkie's defeat came about despite a quality game from Dillon Compton, who rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns. Tanner Lemoine also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Bolton's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.8 points per game. As for Bunkie, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-1.
Bolton might still be hurting after the 47-21 defeat they got from Bunkie in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Bolton have more luck at home instead of on the road?
