Basketball Game Preview: Triumph Charter Jaguars vs. Community Charter Titans

The Triumph Charter Jaguars will take on the Community Charter Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Triumph Charter will be strutting in after a victory while Community Charter will be coming in after a defeat.

Triumph Charter is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Bert Corona Charter: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Triumph Charter blew Bert Corona Charter out of the water with a 78-28 final score. With the Jaguars ahead 36-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Community Charter played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 104-28 loss at the hands of Reseda. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-14.

Despite the defeat, Community Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Edem Ladzepko went 8 for 11 on his way to 19 points along with seven boards and five blocks. That was a full 67.9% of Community Charter's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Justin Mendez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Triumph Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Community Charter, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Triumph Charter against Community Charter in their previous matchup last Monday, as the team secured an 83-23 win. In that matchup, Triumph Charter amassed a halftime lead of 48-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
