Lytle was forced to take a big loss against they on Wednesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Marion Bulldogs 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since March 25th.
Kaycee Galindo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Galindo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Anissa Perez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Giselle Esparza was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
The win got Lytle back to even at 12-12-1. As for Marion, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6-3.
Lytle will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
