Basketball Game Preview: Wauneta-Palisade Broncos vs. Cheylin Cougars

The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos will take on the Cheylin Cougars on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wauneta-Palisade is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 74-29 loss at the hands of Bertrand. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.

Meanwhile, Cheylin played a tough match back in December of 2024 in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 66-29 defeat at the hands of Logan/Palco. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with Logan/Palco: they've now lost four in a row.

Wauneta-Palisade will need focus on slowing down Landon Schoenberger, one of several Cheylin players who made an impact when they last played. He posted nine points. Schoenberger is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Wright, who earned eight points.

Cheylin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Wauneta-Palisade, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Wauneta-Palisade was dealt a bruising 65-35 defeat at the hands of Cheylin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Wauneta-Palisade avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
