Soccer Game Preview: Butler vs. Queen's Grant

The Butler Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Queen's Grant Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Butler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Butler's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over East Mecklenburg. The win made it back-to-back victories for Butler.

Liza Wesley was the driving force of Butler's attack as she scored both of Butler's goals, bringing her season total up to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Queen's Grant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Carmel Christian. While losing is never fun, Queen's Grant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 427th, while Carmel Christian are ranked 87th).

Butler's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Queen's Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
