Baseball Recap: Howell Has No Trouble Against Monmouth Regional

Howell lost to Monmouth Regional on Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Rebels blew past the Falcons 13-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Howell let Aaron Wojenski and Logan Koeppel run wild. Wojenski went 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI, while Koeppel went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Koeppel has become a key player for Howell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8-1 otherwise. Derek Liotti was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Howell now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Monmouth Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howell will welcome Point Pleasant Boro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monmouth Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Matawan Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
