Softball Game Preview: Little Chute Mustangs vs. Denmark Vikings

Little Chute hasn't had much luck against Denmark recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will face off against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Little Chute has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Little Chute is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 21st straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Fox Valley Lutheran, falling 19-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denmark). They blew past Clintonville 12-2 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

Denmark has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Little Chute, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Little Chute suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Denmark in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
