The Perry Commodores will head out to square off against the Spencerville Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Lima Central Catholic hit Perry with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Commodores came up short against the Thunderbirds, falling 11-1. The Commodores' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Perry saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Scott, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Spencerville came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Polar Bears get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's two games straight that the Bearcats have won by exactly two runs.

Spencerville pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Perry skirted past Spencerville 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Commodores since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
