Softball Game Preview: Lutheran South Academy Pioneers vs. HCYA

Lutheran South Academy is on a three-game streak of home wins, while HCYA is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pioneers will welcome HCYA at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. HCYA took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lutheran South Academy, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Lutheran South Academy made easy work of Fort Bend Christian Academy and carried off a 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, HCYA's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Episcopal, falling 15-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss HCYA has suffered since February 10th.

Sarah Horne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Lutheran South Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for HCYA, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-7-4.
