Belvidere North's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: West Limestone hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. West Limestone's pitcher stepped up to hand Rock Island a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since March 1st.

The result came thanks to JuliAnn Kyle's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

Meanwhile, Belvidere North got the win against Evansville Reitz on Thursday by a conclusive 9-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Thunder.

Belvidere North's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for West Limestone, their victory bumped their record up to 23-2.
