Volleyball Recap: Brookstone Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Brookstone had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the First Presbyterian Day Vikings on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Brookstone was led to victory by Anne Sluder and Carsyn Galligan. Sluder had 13 digs and three assists, while Galligan hit 82.4% for 14 kills and seven aces and one assist. Galligan has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 68 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Brookstone was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Brookstone's win bumped their record up to 26-6. As for First Presbyterian Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-18.

Brookstone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Valwood on the 4th. First Presbyterian Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
