Basketball Game Preview: St. Lawrence Central Larries vs. Norwood-Norfolk Flyers

St. Lawrence Central is 9-1 against Norwood-Norfolk since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The St. Lawrence Central Larries will head out to take on the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers at 7:00 p.m. St. Lawrence Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

St. Lawrence Central will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Madrid-Waddington, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. St. Lawrence Central snuck past Madrid-Waddington with a 66-62 victory on Tuesday.

St. Lawrence Central had a senior duo take command as Ayden Beach almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 boards, and nine steals and Damien Ashley went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points and six steals. Beach's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carl Moore, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Norwood-Norfolk was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Alexandria Central, falling 54-25. One positive for the Flyers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Norwood-Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Lawrence Central, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything came up roses for St. Lawrence Central against Norwood-Norfolk when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 93-20 victory. In that game, St. Lawrence Central amassed a halftime lead of 54-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
