Basketball Game Preview: Wethersfield Eagles vs. Rocky Hill Terriers

The Wethersfield Eagles will face off against the Rocky Hill Terriers at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Wethersfield is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since February 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Rockville 42-40. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Rocky Hill came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Nor'easters 37-34. The 37-point effort marked the Terriers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Rocky Hill's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Wethersfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Wethersfield came up short against Rocky Hill in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 37-31. Can Wethersfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
