Soccer Game Preview: Caprock vs. Monterey

The Caprock Longhorns will head out to challenge the Monterey Plainsmen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Caprock is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Tascosa just ended the team's 11-match winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Rebels could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Caprock have been dealt a draw since back in January.

Meanwhile, Monterey kept a clean sheet against Plainview on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monterey.

Monterey's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-3. Caprock's draw gives them a new season record of 11-0-4.

Caprock beat Monterey by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
