Basketball Recap: Rocky Mountain's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Rocky Mountain came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Big Horn Rams by a score of 42-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Grizzlies also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Rocky Mountain was led to victory by Lauren Bassett and Kaysie Cooley. Bassett dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards, while Cooley posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Bassett has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brittly Boettcher, who earned three points along with five boards and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Big Horn lost, don't look at Emme Grace Mullinax. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Rocky Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Big Horn, they moved to 8-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Tongue River the next time they take the court. Big Horn will host Tongue River at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Rocky Mountain will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
