Carson took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Concord, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars skirted past the Spiders 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carson's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Concord, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carson will square off against rival Salisbury at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Concord is set to challenge their familiar foe West Rowan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
