Softball Recap: Lawrenceville Takes a Loss

Lawrenceville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hutsonville/Palestine, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since April 17th.

Alyssa Griggs was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Makenna Hill also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Lawrenceville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.
