Softball Recap: Riverview Sharks vs. Sumner Stingrays

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Riverview can now relate to. They lost 10-3 to the Sumner Stingrays on Monday. Riverview has not had much luck with Sumner recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Aiyana Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Riverview was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sumner didn't hit any.

On Sumner's side, Aliyanis Stubbs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Stubbs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Joiner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Riley Wine was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
