Columbus picks up 14th straight win at home

Recap: Columbus Explorers vs. Hialeah Gardens Gladiators

The Columbus Explorers had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hialeah Gardens 101-47 at home. Columbus' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Cameron Boozer, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Feenane, who scored 16 points.

Defeat or not, Hialeah Gardens got some senior leadership from Sebastian Pupo and Khalil Volel. Pupo scored 20 points along with six assists, while Volel. scored 12 points along with two steals. Max Johnson was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Columbus pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Hialeah Gardens, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Southridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hialeah Gardens, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Goleman at 1:30 p.m.
