Recap: Hughson Huskies vs. Bradshaw Christian The Pride
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Hughson Huskies walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 40-39 photo finish over the The Pride. Winning may never get old, but Hughson sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Hughson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Villarreal, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Robert Mcdaniel was another key contributor, throwing for 210 yards and three touchdowns.
Several The Pride players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Burden, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Burden is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Mojica, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
Hughson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Bradshaw Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 10-3.
Hughson will be playing in front of their home fans against Palma at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palma is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. Bradshaw Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
