Basketball Game Preview: River Pilots vs. Buckeye Trail Warriors

The River Pilots are taking a road trip to challenge the Buckeye Trail Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Buckeye Trail will come in with three straight wins.

River is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Steubenville on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. River took a blow against Steubenville, falling 59-19. While losing is never fun, the Pilots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 681st, while the Big Red are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Buckeye Trail was able to grind out a solid victory over Wheeling Park on Tuesday, taking the game 58-47.

Buckeye Trail's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for River, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

River took their victory against Buckeye Trail in their previous meeting back in February of 2015 by a conclusive 63-40. Does River have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buckeye Trail turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
