Volleyball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Wakefield Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Wakefield scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18.

Salena Duinkerken paced Madison's offense, picking up six kills. Duinkerken got some help from Bella Duinkerken and her ten assists.

Wakefield can attribute much of their success to Ashlyn Riewer, who had 12 digs and three assists.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Wakefield, the win snapped their losing streak at 16 matches and leaves them with a 2-23 record.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Schuyler on the 21st. As for Wakefield, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Stanton on the 21st.
