Football Game Preview: Somerset Eagles vs. Bedford Bisons

Somerset hasn't had much luck against Bedford recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Bisons at 7:00 p.m. Somerset has given up an average of 38.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Somerset is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Richland on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Eagles had to suffer through a 61-7 loss at the hands of the Rams. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-7.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Bedford and Forest Hills, and Forest Hills kept the tradition alive. The Bisons took a hard 21-7 fall against the Rangers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bisons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Rangers are ranked 129th).

Bedford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Somerset, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Somerset came up short against Bedford when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 26-16. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
