Baseball Recap: Iowa City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Muscatine on Tuesday, Iowa City came back down to earth. The Little Hawks fell just short of the Clear Creek-Amana Clippers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Little Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Clippers earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Iowa City's defeat dropped their record down to 34-10. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.

Iowa City will be playing in front of their home fans against Waterloo West at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against Solon on the 3rd.
