Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Christian Academy Chargers vs. Halifax Academy Vikings

The Wilson Christian Academy Chargers will venture away from home to square off against the Halifax Academy Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wilson Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so Halifax Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Wilson Christian Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Alamance Christian just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 18-14 to the Warriors. While the Chargers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 8-2 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Halifax Academy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 42-31.

Halifax Academy's win came from a few key players Wilson Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Karson Ricks, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 11 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Hayden Barlow was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Halifax Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Halifax Academy's record is now 3-1. As for Wilson Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Wilson Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Halifax Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 39-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
