Baseball Recap: West Covina Comes Up Short

West Covina suffered their closest loss since February 28th on Monday. They fell just short of the Charter Oak Chargers by a score of 8-6. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Joseph Castillo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Maldonado, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

West Covina's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Charter Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season.

While West Covina had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
